NimbleClean — Privacy Policy

Applies to NimbleClean for Android (com.nimbleclean.app), version 1.0.0 and later versions that do not contain ads.

1. Who we are

NimbleClean is provided by VOLTLOK LTD ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app reads on your device, what it keeps there, and the choices you have.

2. What the app reads on your device

• Storage totals: the available and total space of your device, to show how much space is left. This needs no permission.
• Photos and videos, after you allow access: file size, date, folder location and type, and thumbnails for previews. The app uses them to list large videos older than 30 days, screenshots older than 30 days, and photos and videos that supported chat apps saved to your phone and that are older than 90 days, and to show the Large files screen. The supported chat apps are currently WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business; the app recognises their media folders by path and does not check which apps are installed.
• NimbleClean's own cache, to show its size and delete it when you choose.

All of this is processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded, sold or shared.

3. What the app keeps on your device

• Your settings, such as the app language.
• A list of the items NimbleClean moved to the system trash (internal media IDs), so the Trash screen can show them.
• A local usage log of app events, such as which screen was opened and how many items were selected, with sizes grouped into ranges. It contains no file names, no folder paths and no list of installed apps. It stays in the app's private storage and is never sent anywhere.

App backup is turned off, so this information is not copied to Android or Google backups. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app, deletes it.

4. Permissions

• Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO; Android 13 and later): to find the items described in section 2. Requested only after you tap a button: "Find what to clear" on the home screen, or "Allow photos and videos" (or "Allow all") on the access card shown on the summary, Large files and Trash screens. Nothing is requested when the app starts.
• Selected photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED; Android 14 and later): if you allow only some photos and videos, the app counts only those and tells you so.
• Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE; Android 12 and earlier): the same purpose as photos and videos on older Android versions.
• Storage write (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE; Android 10 and earlier): to delete the items you select and confirm, because these versions have no system trash.

You can decline or revoke any permission in Android settings. The home screen keeps working without it.

5. Deleting files

Nothing is selected for you, and nothing is deleted until you confirm. On Android 11 and later, selected photos and videos go to the Android system trash first and can be restored until Android removes them; how long they stay is decided by Android. On Android 10 and earlier there is no system trash: confirmed items are deleted immediately and cannot be restored. Items you delete for good cannot be recovered by us, because we never have a copy.

6. Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties. The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software.

7. Children

NimbleClean is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because NimbleClean does not collect personal data, we hold none about you. You control everything the app keeps by managing permissions, clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. You can still contact us with any question.

9. Links

When you open this policy from the app, it opens in your web browser. Your browser's own privacy policy applies to that visit.

10. Changes

If a future version adds features that send data, such as ads or notifications, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the effective date above.
